They still have the hard outer, however they have been tumbled meaning they are smooth and polished. "garde'n grade" means just a little more work with your Dremel or chinese look-alike. Hidden under the rough crust is paua shell just as beautiful as the jewelry grade pieces. When it is your hobby, the time you spend to discover this beauty is quality time

Love love love the Graden grade shell. All different sizes, and plenty of each size! Just as nice to use on my crafts as the polished fancy stuff. Will definitely be purchasing more once my first bag has run out!

Our mirror frames look spectacular with the paua shell we ordered. My class made flowers,patterns and decorated their painted frames ready for our AG Day exhibits. Great value for money and prompt delivery.

This purchase turmed out to be exactly what we wanted for inlaying in various hand made wooden boards etc. Also Paua world was so good in following up our parcel to ensure its delivery in NZ before we left.
